ABOUT THE CONCERT

Poster for FREEDOM RAIN ConcertIn support of the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations System in Trinidad and Tobago (UNTT) will co-produce with Production One Ltd., its first-ever local human-rights concert, FREEDOM RAIN: The UN Concert for Human Rights and Justice on Saturday October 25, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. The concert celebrates human rights and dignity, promotes the Millennium Development Goals, and extends the reach of the United Nations in Trinidad and Tobago.

Production One Ltd. will create the three-hour live event from the main stage of a major arena in North Trinidad. Thousands of lucky fans will experience this exciting, FREE concert that will be hosted by a local media personality, and is poised to attract top musicians, celebrities, and dignitaries. Artist lineup at this time is Kees Dieffenthaler, 3canal, Brother Resistance, Denyse Plummer, Blue Culture, Terrenaissance ...and more to be announced.

FREEDOM RAIN: The UN Concert for Human Rights and Justice intends to galvanize and inspire the local community to take meaningful actions throughout the year focused on human rights, ensuring sustainable development and other Millennium Development Goals. "In addition to the music and messages from stage, we hope to create a powerful event and broadcast with a universal theme of human rights and dignity for all, "say the producers.

The Concert is not only to raise awareness of the work of the United Nations in Trinidad and Tobago, but to also mobilize the business community to partner with the UN System in Trinidad and Tobago to advance its goals, promote the ideals of the UN and thereby advance development of and serve the people of the country and region.

TICKET AND CONCERT INFORMATION

A limited number of tickets for FREEDOM RAIN: The UN Concert for Human Rights and Justice will also be available online on a "first come, first served" basis from this website beginning Monday, October 6, 2008. Only 500 tickets will be available from this source.

ALL TICKETS ARE FREE. YOU MUST HAVE A TICKET TO ENTER. Tickets are not transferable for commercial gain. Good for one entry only at Concert location.
Additional artists to be announced soon. Register early to guarantee a great concert experience. Artists and venue subject to change. Rain or shine.

Doors for the Concert open at 2:30 p.m. Come early to sample food and drinks. International food on sale organised by the Diplomatic Corps in Trinidad and Tobago.
